Celecoxib is a NSAID which is an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. Celecoxib is a selective COX-2 inhibitor. It works by inhibiting the activity of prostaglandin synthesis. Progesterone is a naturally occurring female sex hormone. It is produced by the female reproductive tract and is secreted into the blood stream in a cyclic reaction. The body produces a variety of prostaglandins, some of which are prostaglandin-E, and others are chemicals (such as mucus and leucocyte components).
